Planned giving is a crucial part of your church's financial success, and it's also a beautiful way to create your personal legacy. The Foundation offers a variety of free resources to help churches ask for and receive planned gifts. All print resources can be customized for your church, and we're also happy to help create resources on additional planned giving topics. Just ask!

WILL planning workshops

Our staff travel throughout Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington to teach workshops. The most popular subject is how to plan your will. An estimated 60% of people in America do not have wills. Helping members of your congregation plan for the future is a true ministry. It's a relief to know that their loved ones will be protected and provided for.

Online Will Planner

The Foundation provides free access to an online will planning tool for individuals throughout our episcopal area. The tool provides a template and allows you to fill in the relevant details and create a simple will. It's always a good idea to consult your attorney about your will, but this tool provides a good starting point.

The Foundation also makes an electronic or print version of a free estate planning guide available.

planned giving consultation

For churches that already have an endowment and are looking for ways to grow it, we offer consultation on how to cultivate planned gifts within the congregation. We're designing a complete program to bring planned giving into the fabric of your church culture. We'll work with you to  customize it for your church and help you implement it over the course of a year.

Planned giving brochure

Our Planned Giving Overview brochure (designed to be printed in color on both sides of an 8.5x14 inch page) provides an overview of the different ways that people can make a planned gift, and the benefits of each way. It's a good starting place to help your congregation learn more.

Our IRA Brochure (designed to be printed in color on both sides of an 8.5x11 inch page) summarizes the benefits of giving through an IRA rollover. This is an easy way for many people to make a more significant gift than they might have imagined.

Our Gift Annuity Brochure (designed to be printed in color on both sides of an 8.5x11 inch page) describes how individuals can create a charitable gift annuity through the Foundation that provides stable income for them during their lifetime, and an additional benefit to their church after that. Gift Annuities can be surprisingly affordable, and a real blessing to seniors on a fixed income.

Donor Advised Fund

Our Donor Advised Fund flyer (designed to be printed in color on a single side of an 8.5x11 page) explains how donors can make a tax-advantaged gift now that benefits their church and other favorite charities for many years in the future. The Foundation can help people set up these funds and disperse gifts according to their preferences.
